Joyful Worship

Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

Sing songs, pray and listen to a message. Participate at your own level of comfort. Whether that means sharing prayer requests for the group to hear, singing loudly or sitting silently. Everyone worships in different ways. You will be welcomed, but not singled out.

We believe you'll enjoy the casual, relaxed atmosphere that is the heart of New Joy Community Church. Joyful Worship is no exception. Bring your refreshments and drinks with you. It's expected! Cup empty during worship? No problem! Go ahead, get a refill.

All information, words to music, etc, is on the large screen. Joyful Worship generally follows a pattern something like this: Opening music/singing time is followed by updates and prayer. A little more music and then the message is given. A closing prayer and music brings Joyful Worship to a close.

The music on Sunday morning is contemporary praise music  It's generally very upbeat and energetic, but now and then, something a little quieter, more reflective is also included.

Who is Welcome?

You are welcome here if you're married or single,

for we will partner with you.

You are welcome here if you're a parent or the child of one,

for we will be a family to you.

You are welcome here if you know what you believe or if you don't know what to believe,

for we will share our faith.

You are welcome here if you love people whose bodies look like yours or if you love people whose bodies are different,

for here, we are all the body of Christ.

You are welcome here if your people are from this place or from far away,

for our God is both here and everywhere.

You are welcome here if you're a saint or a sinner,

for God knows we are, all of us, both.

Yes! It is true: "No matter who you are, no matter where you are on life's journey, NO MATTER WHAT, you are welcome here!"

We are grateful to the Reverend Quinn G Caldwell, Pastor and Teacher of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, Syracuse, NY, for his permission to modify and publish this statement on the New Joy Community Church, United Church of Christ website.
